Dave is a multifaceted author, attorney, former mayor, writer, actor, and, above all, a humorist. Known for his unique ability to seamlessly integrate humor into any organization, he has built a reputation for transforming workplaces into more productive, enjoyable, and natural environments. His creative and thoughtful approach to humor not only boosts morale but also fosters collaboration and engagement.
Dave is the author of Home School Hell with Saint Corona Up to Bat, a poignant yet hilarious account of the struggles faced by a widowed father navigating remote learning with his children. The book emphasizes the power of humor in managing stress and finding joy in life’s most challenging moments. He is also the co-author of The Leadership Renaissance, where he explores the art and science of humor, revealing how it can be used as a powerful tool for leadership and engagement.
In addition to his work as a writer and speaker, Dave is an employment lawyer with extensive experience in labor relations, collective bargaining, and litigation. He has represented both private and public sector clients, including Chief Judges, in matters related to employment law and civil rights. He has also served as a Special Assistant Attorney General and Special Assistant State’s Attorney for labor litigation.
With a passion for comedic improvisation, Dave has spent decades honing his craft in musical comedy and performing across various platforms. He was also a humor columnist for Chicago Lawyer Magazine, bringing his unique brand of wit and wisdom to his readers. In recognition of his leadership in healthcare, Dave received the Outstanding Leadership Award from one of America’s top 100 hospitals.
