Michael Irvin

Michael Jerome Irvin, born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, is the 15th of 17 siblings. His journey to stardom began at St. Thomas Aquinas High School, where he became a football sensation. Recruited by the University of Miami, he joined one of the top collegiate football programs in the country under coach Jimmy Johnson.

During his time at the University of Miami, Michael set several school records, including most career receptions, receiving yards, and touchdown receptions. His legendary performance on Miami’s 1987 National Championship Team helped propel them into the National Championship Game. To this day, Michael remains a proud supporter of the University of Miami, where he serves as a mentor for younger players and provides tutorials to wide receivers. In recognition of his impact, Michael was inducted into the University of Miami Sports Hall of Fame in 2000.

After a stellar college career, Michael transitioned to the NFL, where he became one of the most dynamic wide receivers in the league. But even after his playing days, his impact on the sport continued as he joined the NFL Network in 2009. As part of the NFL Sunday and NFL GameDay Morning teams, Michael brings his charismatic personality and deep knowledge of the game to millions of fans. He has also appeared in various commercials for the NFL Network and participated in a variety of media projects.

Beyond broadcasting, Michael has made notable appearances in film and television. He starred in the 2005 remake of The Longest Yard, alongside Adam Sandler and Chris Rock, and appeared in Jack & Jill in 2011. He also featured as a “Pro” in an episode of Pros vs. Joes and hosted the football-themed reality series 4th and Long on Spike TV. Additionally, Michael made a guest appearance on Burn Notice in 2009 and hosted a radio show on Miami’s WQAM until 2012.

Off the field, Michael is a devoted husband and father. He married Sandy Harrell in June 1990 and together they have four children. Michael has embraced fatherhood with enthusiasm, cherishing the opportunity to learn valuable life lessons from his family. His exuberant personality shines through as he shares the insights and values that helped him succeed both on and off the field.

Today, Michael is focused on giving back to the community and sharing his experiences with others. His passion for fatherhood and personal growth drives his work with training camps and speaking engagements, where he inspires others to live their lives to the fullest. Through these initiatives, he also supports charitable causes, donating a portion of proceeds to impactful organizations.
