Terri Sjodin

Principal and Founder of Sjodin Communications

Terri Sjodin is a renowned speaker, author, and entrepreneur, recognized for her expertise in helping professionals enhance their persuasive presentation skills. With over thirty years of experience, she founded Sjodin Communications from a small home office and has since built an impressive client list, including Fortune 500 companies, small businesses, national sales teams, industry associations, and even members of Congress.

Terri is the author of several influential books, including Scrappy and the New York Times Best Seller, Small Message, Big Impact (Penguin/Portfolio). Her book also earned spots on the Wall Street Journal Hardcover Business Bestseller list and the USA Today Money bestseller list. Her latest work, Presentation Ready, is based on a multi-year, three-phase research study and was published by McGraw-Hill.

In recognition of her excellence in the speaking industry, Terri was inducted into the NSA Speaker Hall of Fame in July 2012. The CPAE (Certified Professional Speaker Award) is the highest lifetime honor for speaking excellence, awarded to those who excel in material, style, experience, delivery, image, professionalism, and communication. Additionally, Terri has earned the prestigious CSP (Certified Speaking Professional) designation, held by less than 12% of the 5,000 members of the International Federation for Professional Speakers. She was also named one of the Top 5 Women in Business by the Orange County Business Journal.

Beyond her entrepreneurial and writing success, Terri is a sought-after LinkedIn Learning Instructor and a frequent guest on national radio and TV talk shows, including The Today Show, Bloomberg, CNN, CNBC, and various industry podcasts.

Terri’s commitment to social causes is evident in her service on the Orange County Board of Trustees for Olive Crest, an organization dedicated to preventing child abuse, supporting at-risk children, and preserving families.

Terri graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communication. Before founding her own company, she was a top sales producer with both The Achievement Group and Resource Dynamics.
