Wema Hoover is a Global Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Leader, Executive Coach, and Culture Curator with extensive experience driving transformative DEI strategies across top global organizations. Wema has previously led DEI efforts for industry giants like Google, Pfizer, Sanofi, and Bristol-Myers Squibb, where she helped inform and guide corporate leadership on critical initiatives to foster a more inclusive, equitable, and diverse workplace.
With a track record of leading teams of over 85 people, Wema has developed and implemented multiple Global Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Councils, enhancing internal capabilities in areas such as belonging, unconscious bias, cultural competence, and global leadership. Her strategic leadership has shaped the corporate cultures of some of the world’s most prominent companies.
As a recognized DEI thought leader, Wema has made significant contributions to the field, including her role as a member of the Coqual (Center for Talent Innovation) Hidden Brain Drain Task Force, where she collaborated on best practice DEI research across global markets, including China, India, and the US. She is also a National Member of the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) and a sought-after speaker on DEI topics at prominent conferences, including The Conference Board, Working Mother, and Diversity Best Practices.
In addition to her leadership and speaking engagements, Wema is an Executive Coach with a strong educational foundation. She holds a Master of Science in Human Resource Management and a Master’s-level Certificate in Organizational Change Management, both from New School University. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Rutgers University and is a certified Global Professional in Human Resources (GPHR) through the Human Resources Certification Institute.
